Special (24 hour) licenses are a good way for local nonprofit organizations to make money for their cause by selling alcohol for on-premise consumption (e.g., at a local "beer tent"). All nonprofit organizations can obtain up to 12 special licenses (24-hours per license) throughout the calendar year. For organizations established less than one year, the cost is $50.00 per 24-hour period. For organizations established more than one year, the cost is $25.00 per 24-hour period.
The application process for a special license is relatively straightforward; the application form (available here) provides the step-by-step details on how to apply. A few considerations to keep in mind:

Temporary Authorization for Current Licensees Existing licensees who are not nonprofit organizations are eligible to perform certain special activities (e.g. a beer tent in the parking lot) using a 24-hour "Temporary Authorization." For more information, click here.
